Our Dynamic Earth Conference Centre, the venue for the Edinburgh Seminar
Our ABC of Prostate Diseases Seminars are proving extremely popular. We have now run well-attended seminars in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast, Newcastle and Edinburgh. In total over 600 professionals have had the opportunity to bring their knowledge up to date by listening to top experts in the field.
A typical seminar consists of six forty-minute talks followed by questions on:
The diagnosis of the three main diseases of the prostate and the staging of prostate cancer
The treatment of early prostate cancer
The treatment of advanced prostate cancer
The treatment of BPH and prostatitis
Family support
The patient's story
Our Chairman has spoken at several seminars, as have three other professors, five consultants, two nurses, a psychiatrist, a research worker and a patient.
We are enormously encouraged by what those who attend have told us. Looking at the feedback forms filled in by participants at the most recent two seminars we find:
Would you recommend the conference to a colleague?
Yes 100%.
How well informed do you think you were prior to the seminar?
Very well or well informed 46%
Basic or little knowledge 54%
How well informed do you feel after the seminar?
Very well or well informed 97%
Basic or little knowledge 3%
The next few seminars are already scheduled in Southampton, Cardiff and Leeds with more penciled in beyond that. Also, we are developing a new type of seminar on Breaking Bad News. Early in 2008 we will be running a national workshop in London on prostatitis.
