In February, a team of very unfit gentlemen (they call themselves the Original Sinners) decided to do something about their expanding waistlines and the risk of being affected by prostate cancer by joining a Men's Health Programme.

Over the last 6 months they have shed the excess weight they have been carrying around for too long and got into racing snake proportions for the August Challenge when, as a team, they will trek to the 16,354ft summit of Mount Kenya.

The Sinners who gave up chocolate, beer and cigarettes, are training under the supervision Dr Michael Staunton. They aim to be fit enough to complete their challenge, and also to be able to combat any altitude side effects.

One of the Original Sinners, Robbie Burns, who lost his father to the disease, is looking forward to the trek and says 'I am delighted that my son Reuben will be joining me on the great adventure and that we will be doing this Father and Son thing for a cause that is so very close to both of us.'
