This picture was taken in September last year and shows the 16 of us that spent nine days walking along the GR5 in Alsace. It involved daily walks of 20km or so with average ups and downs of 600 meters. Not as strenuous as some of my previous excursions, but nevertheless an exciting and demanding walk.
During the walk, David (who travelled from Australia to be with us) auctioned the remains of a rather nice bottle of schnapps leftover from a similar event the previous night. We cannot remember whether David said the proceeds of the auction was to go to Prostate UK or whether Ziggi the bidder said that when his bid won but, in any event, 70 euros were raised and this was added to the rest of the sponsorship money and donations.
I am always trying to find new ways to raise money for Prostate UK and I usually use the backdrop of my annual walk as an excuse to ask friends for their support in my quest to raise a total of £150,000. At the time of writing, am only £5,871 away from my target.
If you would like to help me reach my target, please send a donation in the usual way and mention my name along with your remittance.
