Ashton Court Estate, Bristol - 22nd June 2008

Steeped in almost 900 years of fascinating history, this attractive parkland estate is home to the magnificent Ashton Court Mansion. It is ideally located on the edge of Bristol's vibrant city centre, so join us in this uniquely beautiful setting for Pants in the Park 2008!

On-line registration is now closed but you can register on-site on Sunday 22nd June for an entry charge of £10 for each runner payable in cash. Please be sure to check in at the Welcome Desk before 10:15am to allow sufficient time.

Timetable

Please ensure that you check in with us when you arrive at Pants in the Park – the Prostate UK desk will be located close to the fun run starting point.

10.00 — 10.45 Check-in
11.00 — 11.00 Start of run
12.00 — 12.15 Prize giving

Once you have finished the run/walk please don't forget to collect your well deserved medal!

Main route (5km) The start and finish lines are at the ‘events’ site near to the church lodge car park. There will be safety marshals in fluorescent waistcoats along the route to guide you.

Short route If you would prefer to have a leisurely stroll or if you are taking part with young children, we are happy for you to just do as much as you wish.

How to get to Ashton Court Estate

Address: Ashton Court Estate, Long Ashton, Bristol, BS41 9JN. Please see the map.

By train:	Take a train to Bristol (Temple Meads) and then get a taxi from the station to the Ashton Court Estate.
By bus:	Catch the No. 359 bus from Bristol city centre to Ashton Lodge, Abbots leigh Road. Ashton Court Estate is a 13 minute walk from there.
By car:	Ashton Court Estate is situated two miles from Bristol city centre. Go along the A370 to the Long Ashton by-pass to reach the entrance located by the Dovecote Inn.

Entertainment and facilities

There will be face painting for children from 10am to 1pm.
Food and ice cream will be available from the café if you fancy a treat.
Toilet facilities will be available in the park.
The estate is noted for its wildlife, with a mixture of grassland, woodland and ponds. The Grade 1 listed mansion ranks amongst the country's finest. Discover the magnificent old oak trees and see the deer graze in an estate that first became a deer park over six hundred years ago.

Safety: Please be aware of other users of the park and be careful of uneven paths. If you or a fellow runner is hurt, please contact the nearest marshal who will be able to help you. Volunteers from St John Ambulance will be present. If a serious accident or incident occurs please alert the nearest marshal who will call the appropriate emergency services.

Don't forget to bring: Appropriate clothing for unpredictable weather, sun protection cream, a hat, bottled water and most importantly your fancy dress pants! For more hints and tips please see Fun Run Tips.

Parking: Free parking is available at the car park by the entrance near Dovecote Inn. Parking is entirely at your own risk.
