Battersea Park, London - Father's Day - 15th June 2008

Battersea Park is one of London's most beautiful green spaces with good facilities. It is easy to reach in South West London so join us in the capital for Pants in the Park 2008!

REGISTER ON-SITE   On-line registration is now closed but you can register on-site on Sunday 15th June for an entry charge of £10 for each runner payable in cash. Please be sure to check in at the Welcome Desk before 10:15am to allow sufficient time.

Timetable

Please ensure that you check in with us when you arrive at Pants in the Park – the Prostate UK desk will be located close to the fun run starting point.

10.00 — 10.45 Check-in
11.00 — 11.00 Start of run  – Boules / Central Avenue
12.00 — 12.15 Prize giving


Once you have finished the run/walk please don't forget to collect your well deserved medal!

Main route (5km) The 'start' and 'finish' lines are in the Boules Area (see map). The main 5km run is two laps of the course. There will be safety marshals in fluorescent waistcoats along the route to guide you.

Short route If you would prefer to have a leisurely stroll or if you are taking part with young children, we are happy for you to do as much as you wish.


How to get to Battersea Park

By tube: Sloane Square station – then a short taxi ride or the 137 bus to Queenstown Road or the 319 bus to Battersea Bridge Road
By train: Battersea Park station is a short walk away
Queenstown Road station is a short walk away
Clapham Junction station – Short taxi ride or the 319 bus to Battersea Bridge Road or the 344 bus to Battersea Park Road
Victoria BR – Short taxi ride or the 239 bus to Chelsea Embankment
By bus: East of Park (Queenstown Road) – the 137
West of Park (Battersea Bridge Road) – the 19, 49, 319 or 345
South of Park (Battersea Park Road) – the 44 or 344
By car: Go to the Albert Gate entrance. Registration is close by.

Entertainment and facilities

  • There will be face painting for children from 10am - 1pm.
  • Food and ice cream will be available from the café if you fancy a treat.
  • Toilet facilities will be available in the Boules area as well as elsewhere in the park.
  • The park is home to a variety of wildlife, pretty boating lake and adventure playground.

Safety: Please be aware of other users of the park and be careful of uneven paths. If you or a fellow runner is hurt, please contact the nearest marshal who will be able to help you. Volunteers from St John Ambulance will be present. If a serious accident or incident occurs please alert the nearest marshal who will call the appropriate emergency services.

Don't forget to bring: Appropriate clothing for unpredictable weather, sun protection cream, a hat, bottled water and most importantly your fancy dress pants! For more hints and tips please see Fun Run Tips.

Parking: Parking is available in Battersea Park near the Albert Gate and the Registration area – the charge is £4 for over 2 hours. Parking is entirely at your own risk.
