Wythenshawe Park, Manchester - Father's Day - 15th June 2008

This beautiful and spectacular park is set in 109 hectares of open parkland. It’s unique and landscape features including historic and ornamental woodlands, herbaceous borders, formal bedding, amenity grassland and beautiful wildflower meadows. Three Grade II Listed buildings are also located within the park.

REGISTER ON-SITE   On-line registration is now closed but you can register on-site on Sunday 15th June for an entry charge of £10 for each runner payable in cash. Please be sure to check in at the Welcome Desk before 10:15am to allow sufficient time.

Timetable

Please ensure that you check in with us when you arrive at Pants in the Park – the Prostate UK desk will be located close to the fun run starting point.

10.00 — 10.45 Check-in
11.00 — 11.00 Start of run
12.00 — 12.15 Prize giving


Once you have finished the run/walk please don't forget to collect your well deserved medal!

Main route (5km) The start and finish lines will be next to the Oliver Cromwell statue. There will be safety marshals in fluorescent waistcoats along the route to guide you.

Short route If you would prefer to have a leisurely stroll or if you are taking part with young children, we are happy for you to do as much as you wish.


How to get to Wythenshawe Park

Address: Wythenshawe Park, Altrincham Road, Manchester, M23 0AB.  Please see the map.

By train: Get a train to Manchester, Oxford Road station and then either a No. 101 bus or a taxi from the city centre to Wythenshawe Park.
By bus: Catch the No 101 bus from Oxford Road Station to Wythenshawe Park.
By car: Wythenshawe Park is just south of Manchester city centre off the A5103 Princess Road. It is also easily accessible from the A560 Altrincham Road.

Entertainment and facilities

  • There will be face painting for children 10am - 1pm.
  • Food and ice cream will be available from the café if you fancy a treat.
  • Toilet facilities will be available in the park.
  • Leisure facilities include a play area for children, community farm, tennis courts, sports pitches, bowling greens, crazy golf and petanque.

Safety: Please be aware of other users of the park and be careful of uneven paths. If you or a fellow runner is hurt, please contact the nearest marshal who will be able to help you. Volunteers from St John Ambulance will be present. If a serious accident or incident occurs please alert the nearest marshal who will call the appropriate emergency services.

Don't forget to bring: Appropriate clothing for unpredictable weather, sun protection cream, a hat, bottled water and most importantly your fancy dress pants! For more hints and tips please see Fun Run Tips.

Parking: Free car parking is available in the centre of Wythenshawe Park. Parking is entirely at your own risk.
