Lyke Wake Walk, June 2007

Over thirty people (in three separate teams) have completed the formidable Lyke Wake Walk, 42 miles in one day over the North Yorkshire Moors, in aid of Prostate UK. This is an extremely tough challenge at the best of times, but our walkers only just missed the worst floods to hit Yorkshire for a generation by a matter of days. Starting at around 2am in the morning and finishing at around 8pm, all of the walkers finished feeling exhausted with very sore and soggy feet. More than a few celebratory beers were called for, and they were further fortified by the knowledge that they had so far raised over £150,000 for the charity.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the walk and to everyone who so generously sponsored them.
