The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence published its first guidelines on prostate cancer in February 2008. It reviews diagnosis and treatment, emphasising the need for good communication between healthcare professionals and men with prostate cancer. Prostate cancer specialist Dr Heather Payne talks to Dawn Powell about the guidelines and the management of prostate cancer.
