There has been a lot of recent interest in new treatments for prostate cancer and it is encouraging that there are currently many clinical studies in the UK that are investigating the best combinations of therapy at different stages of the disease. Here are details of two such trials from the Medical Research Council which are open for recruitment in the UK:
RADICALS (.doc file) is a study looking at the role of radiotherapy and hormone treatments after radical prostatectomy.
STAMPEDE (.pdf file) is a trial for men who have just been diagnosed with prostate cancer investigating different combinations of therapies.
These studies are open to recruitment in many hospitals throughout the UK and if you would like more details, you should discuss this with your urologist or oncologist
